March 4th, 2015

Athletics Canada National Race Director Summit 2015 May 28, 2015, Calgary, Alberta

The Athletics Canada National Race Director Summit, sponsored by Race Roster, is being held in conjunction with the Scotiabank Calgary Marathon Race Weekend in 2015.

Five of the country’s largest and most well known races are coming together to ensure smaller race organizers have an opportunity to participate.

BMO Vancouver Marathon, GoodLife Fitness Victoria Marathon, Scotiabank Calgary Marathon, Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend, Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon and Athletics Canada are collectively providing financial support for a few not-for-profit races with a volunteer race director, that meet and/or exceed set criteria, please contact us at info@calgarymarathon.com with “Summit Subsidy” in Subject to apply if you meet the following criteria

Race Director must:

Operate a running event in Canada

Manage a not-for-profit running event

Manage a running event that’s been operating for a minimum of 3 years

Have an event with 1000 participants or less (approximately) in the most recent edition of the event

Special consideration will be made for volunteer or part-time race directors

Subsidies will be awarded to cover entry cost of the Summit, dinner and some travel assistance for Race Directors visiting from other provinces, based on location and cost of return airfare. If you are open to accommodation in the home of a local Calgary Race Director, let us know and we will make efforts to accommodate with one of our generous host families.

Only one application per organization will be considered.
All decisions are at the discretion of the Summit Committee.
Deadline to apply is April 1. All applicants will be contacted by April 10.

As the financial support is a collective agreement between 5 distinct organizations, every effort will be made to “share the love” and ensure Race Directors from as many provinces as possible, who meet criteria, will receive some support.
