Call for bids: 2015 to 2018 Canadian 5km Road Race Championships / National Track League

​Athletics Canada today launched a call for submissions for the 2015 to 2018 Canadian 5km Road Race Championships and for the National Track League. In both cases proposals must be received by September 17, 2014.

 
The Canadian 5km Road Race Championships is part of Athletics Canada's annual Canadian Championship Series. The event showcases Canada's top road racers, and celebrates both sporting excellence and active participation in road running. The event provides significant visibility for the event organizer. Bids will be evaluated on a number of factors, notably based on ability to attract elite runners, provide a positive experience for participants, and meet all hosting requirements. More on those here.
 
The National Track League offers Canadian high performance athletes an opportunity to compete against elite international competition on home soil, while providing breakthrough opportunities for up and coming athletes. Since the first edition in 2011 thousands of the top athletes from around the world have united in Canada to compete in the series, including numerous World Championship and Olympic Games medallists. The 2014 edition of the National Track League featured stops in Halifax, Edmonton, Vancouver and Victoria.
