Founder of the MAX VO2 Event Management Inc. and Toronto Women's Run Series

With three decades of experience in community-based event management, Cory has contributed a unique blend of strategic and execution skills leading to the success of some of the country's most well-known and dynamic events. She has played a pivotal role in such notable events as: Sporting Life 10k, Team Diabetes Canada, Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon, Goodlife Toronto Marathon, and Canada's premier breast cancer participation event, CIBC Run for the Cure, among others.

From high level strategic planning to hands-on water station set up, Cory has done it all. In April 2007, she launched MAX VO2 Management Inc. The company (www.maxvo2inc.com) specializes in event management and execution, and to date has provided leadership and service to such events/organizations as: Sporting Life, Canada Running Series, YMCA of Greater Toronto, Families of Spinal Muscular Atrophy Canada and the Energizer Night Race. In 2014, MAX VO2 Management Inc. became the event management company for the Sporting Life 10k in Toronto. This event has 27,000 runners and is the second largest 10k race in the country.

For many years, Cory envisioned the creation of a women's running series in Toronto: races for women by women. After many lengthy runs brainstorming with other committed "chick runners", the concept of the Toronto Women's Run Series was finally born in 2009 – the first Toronto based women's running series where any woman, regardless of experience or talent, can set the pace and participate in races where a woman will be first across the finish line! Since 2009, the Toronto Women's Run Series has grown to include three events: the signature event, the half marathon/5k as well as a 10k/5k and a 8k/5k. More than 5,000 women and girls will cross the finish line(s) in 2014.

Cory has a penchant for wearing shorts and t-shirts as much as possible - and year-round! That leads her to incorporate her work and personal experiences into her lifestyle. She is a three-time Ironman Triathlon finisher, including the World Triathlon Championships in Hawaii, and has also completed more than a dozen marathons, half marathons and has been participating in road races for more than 30+ years. Additionally, Cory has completed multiple duathlons, including the 2013 World Championships, cycling races and mountain bike events at home and abroad.
